A Time of Surprises and Talents

By Anne Tang

The Music Miracles Concert on March 22 had much more variety than our other concerts. This time, we had two sing-alongs: Ryan and Shannon, plus Me, Michelle, and Yuxin. We also had a Guzheng performance played by Erica Zheng, a new piano duet from Yuxin and Jason and a new separate vocal sang by Aiden.

The first one I’d like to introduce would be the piano duet by Yuxin and Jason. The song name is Greetings, and the played well for that limited time. The piece sounded a lot like a greeting, having a cheerful tune to it. photo

The next person would be Aiden Che, singing the Bugs Bill of Rights. This song was originally arranged by the school (Colvin Run Elementary) making it to a performance for second graders. It was a funny song and had a topic to the wonderful sound of the lyrics. photo

The next performer I’d like to talk about would be Angela, playing a beautiful piece called Dreaming. She sounded like she was dreaming, having a strong connection to the music and sounded really relaxed. photo

After Angela, I would talk about Me, Yuxin, and Michelle. I played the piano and they sang. The song was called A Thousand Years, by Christina Perri. Overall, I thought it was great with a lovely them to the words and a nice made music. photo

Lastly, I would like to say something about the Gu Zheng player, Erica. She started at about age 8 playing for a long time. The Gu Zheng is a traditional Chinese string instrument. The song she played this was called The Love of Yunnan. It was surely nicely played, having so much practice and dedication to her skill. photo

Overall, the Concert was great having a lot of performances and having the audience love it. The concerts next time will hopefully be this packed with variety so everyone watching can enjoy much.
